Our church is governed by a Church Council which is responsible to the membership of Zion Baptist. Our first meeting of Council was held in April of 2003. The Council consists of the team leaders/co leaders of the following teams: Discipleship, Member Care,  Human Resources, Outreach and Missions, and Worship. Our pastor is an ex-officio member.

The Church Council is responsible for providing spiritual leadership, vision and direction for Zion Baptist Church .

The responsibilities of Church Council are:

	To be responsible for long and short term planning for the church body.
	To communicate vision and direction to the church body.
	To select team leadership from among Council members.
	To provide a forum for coordination of ministries at Zion .
	To provide accountability and support for church staff.
	To model, through servant hood, study and prayer, Christian behavior and leadership.
	To be responsible for spiritual discipline.
	To facilitate conflict resolution in the church.
	To appoint ministerial selection committees as necessary.
	To provide oversight and direction of any major church wide campaign in areas such as stewardship, evangelism  or discipleship.
	To act as trustees of the church.
	To finalize church budget proposals.

 

 

Church Council Meeting Guidelines
